no sound

I have no sound on my computer. It was a used computer when I got it, (the sound worked fine) I deleted a lot of old files and things i thought I didn't need. Well then the volume stopped. I checked all the settings in the volume control and everything is correctly set. I think I deleted some sort of file I shouldn't have. Anyone have any ideas on what to do to fix the problem?

try a system restore back to before the files were deleted.

Your sound card driver may be corrupted.if the same error is detected you should download the latest sound card driver and install it on your computer.
