hi i have a advent 7113 laptop which originally had windows vista installed.when this crashed someone installed windows xp.since then i have been unable to get any sound .when i open media i get a message saying no sound device installed.could someone please tell me how to install a sound device THANKS

When XP was installed it is quite possible that the sound drivers were not installed (this happened with my 3.2G desktop) for the MOBO.

I am not sure if you can download these you might need the MOBO disc.

A look in Device Manager should tell you if you have sound on the pc. You might be lucky and find it has just never been enabled!
