No sound, deleted driver

Hello. Earlier I was going through my computer and deleting old programs from add/remove program in the control panel. I must have accidently deleted my sound driver because I no longer have sound and I lost the speaker in the system tray. I've tried installing many drivers but none have worked. Someone recommended installing asus VIA AC'97 4 in 1 driver from the asus website but that also didn't work. My specs are;

Windows 2000
Desktop
Motherboard Asus A7v600
The only sound information i could find was
VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller PCI
Windows service pack 4
