I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro on a Dell dimension 9100, (For reasons I wont go into, here. Those problems are being handled under another thread).

After installation, I have no sound. I have tried for two days to get sound. At one point, I was told the device is working properly and is ready to use. But, I still get what is shown in the pictures.

I have tried everything Windows offered for troubleshooting. Nothing works.

While trying to fix this on my own, I searched Dell drivers with my service tag. This driver did not show up.


I have never had this problem after reinstalling. Don't know what went wrong. You can rest assured this driver executable will go into it's own folder, along with notes. It will be kept for reference for when/if I reinstall, again.
