HELP...just built a new pc...when i turn it on the cpu fan starts led`s work sounds good but then nothing.. pc sounds like it is running. monitor does nothing!!ecs m/ board with on-board savage 3d.. anyone help?

is the monitor good. Is the green light on. check the obvious first make sure monitor is plugged in correctly. Are you getting any post beeps.

monitor is ok.. no POST beeps . pc powers up , blank screen. tried known working chip, memory, psu. still no joy!!:upset:

check the monitor cable for missing pins. Make sure the video card is seated properly. For the heck of it try another monitor, if you can. Also hook up some speakers, might be able to find out any errors from post beeps.

Remove everything but the video board, including all disk drives. Connect the keyboard and monitor, check the integrety of all internal connections and see if you get at least some beeps. Also, you may want to consider removing the MB from the case and powering it up on the bench, sometimes you'll short a conductor out in the case, it's happened to me on several systems. Basically, you start with a minimal configuration until you get it working, then add to it.

try clearing the cmos it sometimes fixes erors like that to do so unplug the wire thats connected to the motherboard and pull the onboard battery off and wait for about 30 seconds then place it back then replug the motherboard and see what happens if still nothing then try the same thing but wait for 10 minutes before reconnecting if still nothing make sure your harddrive IDE cable is plugged in : to the harddrive the same way its plugged into the mobo by following the red line that go's up it.and if still a no show the bios might be destroyed which is common for ECS mobos.
