No restore on Windows 7

My PC is running slow following installation of some antivirus software - SpyBlaster

So I ran a system restore, unfortunately it did not work and I got the following error report
System Restore could not access a file. This is probably because an anti-virus program is running on the computer. Temporarly disable your antivirus program and retry
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x80070005)

I closed my ZoneAlarm and tried again but got the same error.

Did you disable the SpyBlaster and any other protection programs?

I deleted SpyBlaster
ran a scan with my ZoneAlarm
Ran a scan with MalwareBytes
ran a scan with Combo Fix
But all came back clear

Uninstall ZoneAlarm, MalwareBytes, and ComboFix
As I recall, you can mess things up with ComboFix
