hi everyone,

i didn't make a recovery disc when i first booted up my pc and now i need to reset the pc to it's original factory settings. I've got a philips mt1400 multimedia system (which is 18 months old). i'm using windows xp home edition (genuine version). I tried pressing f11 on start up to no avail. can anyone tell me if it's possible to reset pc. thanks everyone

What is the pc doing? Explain your problem a little better. Do you have
software that will allow you to make recovery cd/s?. Is the pc still
under warranty?

the pc is all messed up, spyware,malware,viruses have done all the usual to clean it but it's so full of junk it'll be easier to reset it. internet doesn't work properly. yes it's still under warranty but the warranty doesn't cover what's wrong with it. i haven't got the software to make a recovery disc. i need a new clean start if that's possible. cheers

You may try posting this in the security section of this forum. Maybe
they can help you clean it up. If you wanted to format the machine
and start over you will need a winxp install disc, be it xp pro, or xp home.
