All of a sudden I could not connect to internet through dial up. The error message said something about could not make connection through my tcp/ip protocols. I reinstalled Win 98, removed and added new Dial up Adapter. I even tried to replace the *.386, but when it looked to replace those, it could not find them on my system disc.

Which system disc where I can find these .386 files? What can I do to solve this tcp/ip problem so I can connect to the Web because my kids need to do their homeworks.

Many many thanks.

You should be able to Install TCP/IP as a protocol. In your Networking Control panel.

If I remember correctly use the Add button this should give you the option of adaptor Protocol etc, select Protocol then in the Microsoft option TCP/IP

That should re-intstall it for you.

Other option is to install the DUN Updates. There where a few DUN Updates for Windows 98 that I seem to remember.

DUN = Dial Up Networking
