Trying to upgrade from dialup to dsl. Need to network 2 computers.Year old Dell is up and running. 5.5 year-old ABS can only connect via USB on modem. Installed a D-Link DGE-530T (multiple times). Tried a Netgear GA311 too. Same results. The card cannot be found. I get an error 10 when I try to install it. There is a yellow exclamation sign next to the card in the hardware device manager. The driver is the latest available.
Computer came with Win98 2nd edition. Converted to WinXP. Up to date with SP2.
I have tried the card in the 3 available PCI slots. No difference.
Need XP to find the card to complete the installation.
ABS is a PIII 773MHz.
Thank you.

Have you tried to disable the card in hardware device manager (right click disable), reboot and when it finds new hardware have it look on the cd for the drivers?

No NIC found

Thank you. XP found the device and setup the LAN. BUT! A new error message has appeared: The status is now "unavailable-- device not working".
This is an improvement. Thank you!
Let me know if you have anymore idea's.
