I have downloaded java on two machines, and haven't any luck with getting them installed .

Hi there, by JAVA are you referring to the programming language? or the JAVA used for web browser?
Are you getting any error messages?
You need to make sure that you are the administrator before installing a program, you also need to make sure that you have free space on the hard disk, check to see that it is being installed tothe correct location and that you don't have any protection softwrae such as antivirus stopping it.
