Because the printing system in Linux is now CUPS. The LPD daemon has not been used since about kernel 2.2, there are other printing systems but CUPSI have a computer with Xandros and a Brother MFC240c printer. I installed the drivers and it is working beautifully. The issue is: Why is the printer working with no LPD daemon? I couldn't find one on this computer, maybe I'm just not lookin in the right place. It's not a problem, 'cause it is working, but I'm just curious.
