Hi all,
basically I just drowngrade from Win Vista to Win XP. After installation of the XP, i can't connect to internet.

i tried go to cmd ->
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrators>ipconfig
it only return me
Windows IP Configuration

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrators>
2) tried disable and enable the network adapter too... no use...

Please Help!!!

Have you installed the drivers? If not you will need to.

What make/model if the PC?

You can get the drivers from the manufacturer website.

i'm sorry i lost the smartwizard cd given by ISP. but what are the drivers that i need to install?
my PC is compaq Presario

What model Presario?

Open Device Manager (Start > Run > type devmgmt.msc)

If you see any devices with yellow marks beside them they are missing the driver.

oh... PCI bridge device, PCI device, SM Bus Controller, Video controller are yellow ?

What model Presario?

Go here and choose Software and Driver downloads.

Input your model number and download the required drivers.

Install the Chipset driver first.

Presario SR5198CF... i tried but can't find download file...

You can't download anything until you are connected to the internet. Contact your ISP and request another install disc.

After downgrading from Vista to XP you will have to manually search for the drivers.

You can save the drivers then install the, to this PC.

Download and run AIDA64 save the report and post in your next post.

no internet can't do anything... i reset back to factory default now, so is back to Vista. would like to find out the problem and prepare for it before install XP again.

You will need to find the drivers for XP.

Once you locate the drivers you can save them to a disc,usb drive,etc)
