Hey, I got a Dell Latitude L400 and the HDD crashed so I got a new blank one, but can't do a thing with it. I tried switching the BIOS to boot from CD-ROM but can't find it, tried taking out HDD and installing DOS files onto it but did not work (must not have done it right or somethin, been a while with DOS). I am trying to eventually get Win 98 SE onto this laptop but I can't even get anywhere because it has no drives, only USB and the internal HDD. Any suggestions on maybe copying the DOS files onto the hard drive then installing it back into the computer and being able to boot to DOS so I can install Win 98 SE. Thanks!

Can I install this on the hard drive in a way where I can boot off of it?
Cause I have no other way to boot this thing because it's only got one USB port and it won't let me access a CD-ROM device to boot from.
