what's the best computer i can hope for under $700, and what should i look for in terms of memory and a processor and whatever else will help it to go fast? right now i have a pentium processor, and i've seen computers with pentium 4 processors under $500, so i know i can at least get something faster than i have now. i really have no clue, i just want to be able to take less than 10 minutes to get online, to be able to run programs and software without the computer shutting down. what's the best i can get for under $700?

If you are going to use your current monitor (and OS), you should be able to put together something halfway decent for that. if you are a seasoned e-bay shopper you should be able to do real good.

ATHLON XP 1800+ SOCKET A (266Mhz BUS) .18 MICRON WITH QUANTISPEED ARCHITECHTURE OPERATING AT 1.53GHZ BOXED VERSION COMES WITH FAN AND HEAT SINK $114.00

256MB MEMORY XMS2400 (300MHZ BUS) 256MB DDR 32X64 (184PIN) UNBUFFERED CAS 2 USES 16MX8 DRAMS WITH HEAT SPREADER CORSAIR BRAND MEMORY $80.00
