I have a Sony Vaio vgn-fe770g with 2 gig of ram.

For the last 2 days, everytime im pluging a removable media storage (USB Key, external harddrive and Vaio Memory card adapter VGP-MCA20) through a usb slot or expresscard slot, i'm getting this:

*** Hardware Malfunction***
Call your Hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
*** The system has halted ***

I can use the memory stick slot without problem. I'm also using the PCMCIA slot with a Panasonic P2 card and it is not causing any problem. If I plug my external harddrive with a Firewire connection, everything is fine too.

Only storage through USB and express card are give me the blue screen.

I already tested the system with 2 others memory RAM. I was using Windows 7 but I reinstalled everything back to the factory and now running the original Windows XP (fresh Install) like if it was new from the box and i'm still getting the problem.

I tried running it with just the battery and without the battery. Same problem.

It seem to be a hardware problem but which part should I change?
