So after a normal restart of Win7 [after updating] I come back to the OS to find that there's a new HDD labeled 'Q:\'. I cannot access it, and Explorer says it contains 0bytes and is holding 0bytes. On top of that, I don't have sufficient rights to do anything with it, and it does not appear in the disk management tool. What's going on?

HERE is an image that'll show you what's going on.

[please ignore the 40GB of unallocated space, It's going to be used for something shortly.]

Hi -

Please answer the question by Lead3.

Also, download the zip file, extract the batch file; save to Documents folder. Got to documents folder, RIGHT-click on the batch file icon, select "Run as Administrator".

2 IE8 screens will open for your view. The actual files for them are in your documents folder - HDD1.HTML & HDD2.HTML - zip up both and attach to your next post.

Hi -

Thank you for running that batch script. I wanted to see what Windows Management Instrumentation said about the hard drive and partitions. It shows 2 physical hard drives, 1 NTFS partition each.

The information provided by Lead3 regarding the mysterious "drive Q:" is a known bug in Microsoft Office 13, which is still in testing. To date, there is no known "fix".
