I had the w32.blaster.worm in August and removed it via the symantec tool. I am getting the same svchost.exe errors again, but after running the worm blaster, it says I do not have the worm present. I also STILL cannot install either of the windows Service packs 2 or 4 so I can install the shield. I get a winlogon.exe error and the computer reboots immediately. Does anyone have a similar situation? I have tried just about everything 3 times now with no luck, including getting the Service pack 4 cd. I still get the same results at the same place. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Install a firewall. While the patch prevents re-infection, you can still be affected by the probes by the worm. I'd cruise over to ZoneLabs and download the free copy of ZoneAlarm, it's the one on the left in this page.
