Hi all. Hoping smoeone can help me.

I have a gigabyte mobo (dont ask exact model) but its a 754 pin amd64. I also have a CDRW and 120gig HDD on one IDE channel and a DVDRW on the other ide channel. NVIDEA 6600 GT gfx card. (no floppy drive)

I bought a new 300 gig SATA hard drive. I plugged it in to the sata socket on the mobo and enabled onboard sata controller. WinXP shows the hard drive in device manager but not in my computer. Therefor i cant format it or get data onto it or use it.

I have no floppy drive (and noone in my family has one)

Something ive noticed is that there are only 2 options for sata mode in my bios. RAID and IDE. Neither of which works.

Anyone who can help me please do so. I woujld greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

You might not have your SATA driver loaded, I need to know what model. Do you know what chipset? that will narrow it down

Yay.

I went into there from that website and it saw my drive. From there io got it formatted and now its working fine with my games loading much faster
