I recently purchased an OEM SATA harddrive for my new computer (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16822135106 ). Even though it was OEM, I expected it to at least come with a driver disc, but it didnt. The problem is, neither linux or windows will recognize the drive, and I can't find the appropriate drivers to use. It is however recognized during startup. I have checked the WD site, and tried both things they suggested, but neither have worked. Anyone have any suggestions?
The SATA drive doesn't require drivers, but your controller may. You are looking in the wrong place for the drivers, check your MB driver disk. While you're at it, you might tell us exactly what you're connecting the drive to, make/model.
