Hi,

I've just bought a new NVIDIA Geforce 8800GT 512mb, and my monitor is not switching on when I am turning on my pc.

I am running on Windows XP Game Edition, Russian's made it. I got 300W PSU, 1GB DDR2 533MHZ PC-4200 ram, Intel Pentium dual core 3.2=6.4 CPU,
And a new JETWAY NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800GT 512MB.

I think the problem is the PSU 300W is not enough for my PC.

Some help would be appreciated.

Thank you guys.

Hello and welcome to the TSF, 300W is definitly not enough to power a 8800GT and the rest of your system. I'd reccomend you read through our psu article linked below. In it you'll also find a psu calculator....plug in your specs and add 30% to the result for a reccomended wattage psu for your system, stick to quality brands like OCZ, Antec, Seasonic or PC P&C, you shouuld be able to find such brands at Misco.co.uk or yoyotech.co.uk

And sorry I've took a look at ebay just now,

I found some 600W and 650W PSU'S, can you check them and tell me which one is better.

Thank you.

Or maybe you can find in ebay some better product for me. I got 24-Pin connector and AN ASUS P5VD2-MX SE Motherboard, so it's gonna be compatible with my MB.

Thank you very much again.

Okay I came up with 400W + 30% = 520W.....so a good 600W psu will do nicely for your system an still leave a little room. Neither of the psu's you linked to are worth the shipping costs, they are low quality psu's These would be much better.....

You can't get a decent psu for 20-30 quid, and the psu is the heart of any computer, nor would I purchase a psu from ebay...misco, the uk branch of tigerdirect and yoyotech are both reputable vendors in the UK

You mean 4 pin molex connectors, they all have 6 or more molex connectors, double check the descriptions though, your videocard should take a 6 pin pci-e aux power connector which they all have, just make sure you don't need the 8 pin pci-e connector, not all of them have one. Big case....you mean a std mid tower ATX case or do you have a mini tower, your movo is a m-atx...if you have a mini tower you'll have to check the size of psu that can fit in the case and check the cable lengths in the descriptions

and can you tell me please what this mean: ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V, and 6 x S-ATA, and 2 x PCI-E, thank you

Coz I dont have the SATA HD I've got the old one ATA...
