I got a tyan K8W motherboard with 2 246 Opterons clocked at 2GHZ.

When I installed the cpu there was a small scratch on the fluid but we put it in anyways. The guy who we bought it from said it wouldn't matter.

I've done everything I can possibly think of. Both the 8 pin and 24 pin from the TITAN case powersupply are in the m/b.

The hdd is in through the raid.

I've got a ATI radeon 9250 in the 2nd PCI slot.

Also tried resetting the bios. I did not unplug the 2 powers from the p/s tho.

And the ram is in the first slot.

The only think I can think of is I need some sort of "Registered DDR SDRAM" which it sais I need in the manual. At least one stick....

I hope you have a quality PSU like Enermax or Antec and 600 watts or more or youre not going to go very far running your system ?????

due the power calcualtions / add 30% to the results as PSU's are 70% efficient (they produce their most stable and clean power at the 70% ands under load range !!)

the system you are running is a power hungry beast the video cards alone will gobble up 90 watts / the dual CPU's - ????? hard drives etc

I got the Antec Titan550 with the 550 watt power supply. That should be ENOUGH to get it running?

One thing tho. When I first ran the computer I only had the 24 Pin power line into the m/b until I realised that the m/b required more. Then I looked in the manual and put in the 8 pin as well as the 24 pin. Could it be damaged?

I dont think its damaged / I have seen that boo-boo made many times without a problem !!

hmmmm I will go to website and check your manual / be back soon

does the cpu fans spin / video card lite on ???? / is their hard drive activity when started ?????
