Well I done away with windows me. Now have XP Pro, new install.

When I formated the drive I set 31gigs as c, but I could not set the other 7 gigs at d drive.

Can anyone tell me hou to activate my other partition on the hard drive.

I have a maxter 40 gig drive. Formated in NTFS.

This xp pro is wonderfull. Had no problems installing and all of my programs work fine.

Thank you and have a good day. Jim

RE Partition

Well I fixed it my self. The only problem is I have a f-drive on the hard drive and I wanted (D), Oh well.

These computers are a mess.

Jim

You posted as I was posting and thank you. You are right.
The partitioning was the problem I did not understand.

After I understood that it was not formatted I was able to go ahead with the rest.

Thank You again. Jim

Re

Here`s what I have. I have to change all of the drives.

CD-RW (D)

CD-ROM (E)

To the next lower letter, then change the second partition from (F) to (D)

Then go back and change CD-RW and CD-ROM to the next higher letter.

When you start to rename the CD-RW the computer says that you will lose imporant information.

I don`t know what information you would lose, because there is nothing there.

Thank You, Jim
