I believe you have to do it in Administrative tools. So....
Goto Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/ Then look down the list to Disk Management and select it. It shows all your drives. You can activate the other partition there.. you may have to reformat that second partition. But its as easy as right click on the area displayed, and select format.

That ok Jim.. XP allows you to change the drive letter as well.. so if you need the "F" drive to be a "D" drive, XP lets you change it. Its in the same place I mentioned above. I think you right click the partition, and there will be an option to Change Drive letter...
