Just installed MSI K9A2 Platinum with AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition.

I have power. The CPU fit in cleanly and the CPU fan is running. The video card is a PCI-E Nvidia Geforce 9950 OC edition. It just doesn't do anything else. No beeps or any other way to tell what might be the problem. I bought 2 sticks 2x 2GB Corsair XM2 DHX.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

CJ

It isn't a retail system:

1) NZXT Apollo Case
2) BFG Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT OC
3) Rosewill RP600S-2MK Power Supply
4) MSI K9A2 Platinum Motherboard
5) AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition
6) Corsair 2 x 2GB DDR2 XMS2

Thanks,

CJ

A couple of thoughts come to mind. The Rosewill might (and I am not sure) pull this rig, but a Rosewill power supply is really not very good (like poor quality, no PFC, low efficiency), so you may have a power issue even with that video card. If this were my rig, I would want a bare minimum of a 650 watt Quality power supply for this card. Bigger is always better.
If you have a good PSU and get no beeps, that is not a good sign. Just to try, do you know someone who has a power supply you can swap in there and see if that helps?

Second, have you tried it with only one stick of memory? If not put one in, then swap the other one in if that does not help.

Then, even if done, go through and reseat everything and see if that helps.

Can you get in to the bios?

The power turns on and all the fans run but nothing comes up. Tried running it with one stick of memory and no sticks but same result. The closest thing to a power supply is a 350 watt in an older case. The Rosewill was doing fine when I used it for a P4 2.6 ghz in an Abit motherboard. I took the other motherboard out and was going to replace it with the one that doesn't seem to work.

Does it beep at you when you remove the ram? If not, then most likely either the motherboard or the power supply, or at least he best suspect(s) at this time. BTW, do you have a video card that doesn't pull so much power that you could try in there? If so, give that a try.
