Hello I recently built my first Gaming Rig... But i'm having a bit of an issue.

My old PC was a HP and i guess the HDD from that old PC is not compatible with the new Mobo i installed in the new Rig. So i get Recovery Errors every time on start up. I've tried and tried to boot my CD ROM so i can reinstall windows so it wont error. I've also seen that a lot of people say to wipe the whole HDD with a program like DBan well i would if i could but the CD ROM isn't booting correctly... it goes straight to my HDD and shows the Windows Error.

SPECS
Mobo is a MSI 990XA-GD55
CPU is a AMD-FX 8150 8 CORE
PSU is 750 WATT Thermaltake
DVD ROM is using SATA
Video is AMD RADEON HD 6950

The Mobo seems to read all the hardware fine... If anyone can help a brotha out thanks :]

What OS are you trying to install? Vista & 7 are on DVD.
Is your OS disc a retail version and free from scratches or other defects?
Try booting from a different bootable disc.
Try your OS disc in another PC.
