Hia people. Wether I am in Firefox on Internet Explorer, new windows keep opening up with advertisements for loads of different things! they do it now and again and it is very irritating.

I have done a virus scan, adaware and CCleaner and can not get the problem to stop. Any ideas would be much appreciated!. Thankyou

What does it say in IE lower right corner about Protected mode when you load a website? On or Off? Because if you have turned off UAC (User Account Control) then Protected mode in IE goes off aswell what may result in pop-up blocker to stop working

I use Firefox all the time so I have no idea about IE just tested it to see if popups happened there and it did

I guess firefox must have it's own pop-up blocker and it won't use IE's one. Try to enable UAC, enable Protected mode in Internet settings and load that page with IE. If no pop-ups appear then it's probably firefox not being able to block them. Most likely you will have to reconfigure your browser or download an add-on for blocking pop-ups

I have got the Firefox popupblocker on always have had it on. But no luck with that. It just opens new browser windows now and again it is not constant.

Try to check if there are any firefox support forums. You might be not the only one with such problem
