I just recently got an HP Pavillion zv5000. Actually we got 6 of them and formatted one and put winxp pro on it (ntfs) and then mirrored it to the other 5. One of them sometimes decides it doesnt want to boot. It either hangs at the HP startup screen right at the begining or it sometimes doesnt even get there. After a few tries, and unplugging it from network and everything else, it randomly decides to start up and then it works fine. Could this be a problem with the bios? The other 5 havent had this problem yet, and im stumped as to what it could be. :4-dontkno

A couple of thigs it could be, first of all check the USB ports as these use most of the power on the system and cause shorting out problems which can stop POST, run the system with no periferals.

2. take battery out and unplug from mains hold down power button for 30 secs and then just plug mains in and see if its any better

3. enter the BIOs and set optimal defaults

if none of the above solve the issue then get back to me :)
