new hard drive

i just installed a 80 gig hard drive but it will not reconize my dvd rom as a dvd rom can some one please help

Check all connexions (master / Slave), Check the jumper on your HD and DvD. After go to Setup (Del, Esc key). I think, it's a connexion problem.
