Hi

A new folder has appeared in C:\Windows named l2schemas containing a number of files with the extension .xsd

Does anyone know what these files might relate to?

I have Windows XP Home Edition SP2 fully updated. I did install SP3 a while ago but then had to revert to SP2 using System Restore as there were problems with some of my hardware being incompatable with SP3 - this did leave my PC slightly different to what is was before which was strange.

Hi Eric !

I have that folder too, but can't tell you if it was there before I installed SP3 or if it was added by SP3. It takes only 45KB on my computer so I'd leave it as it is.

.xsd files are related to .xml documents, according to wikipedia it's "used to express a schema: a set of rules to which an XML document must conform in order to be considered 'valid' according to that schema."

They're plain text files, you can open them with notepad.
