I am thinkning of upgrading my CDRW drive to one that is faster. But some of my friends say to wait till the new "blue laser" comes out. The tech at my local computer parts store says wait, but has anyone else heard much about this new laser?
I recommend looking at the price it is going to be compared to how much faster it will me. Price/ performance analysis. Is it getting into the land of diminishing returns? I.E. Is it worth the money for how much faster it will be? Because in the computer business, your wallet gets burned the worst when you buy front end, brand new technology. I personally usually wait about 6 months so I dont get burned quite as bad... but thats just my two cents . I just bought a 36x12x48x CDRW and that thing flies. I burn 80 min CDs in about 3 mins. I use mine just for home use (games and such). You might have a different situation. Tell me more about this "laser" when you get more info. Tell me, is it powerful enough to hold the world ransom for one million dollars? .
