Networking two towers into one monitor

I am in need of some assistance in regards to the possiblitiy of networking towers together so that they can work on one monitor. I believe this is possible but I am not sure of the procedure to follow. When you network different towers, do they need to be using the same version of Windows?
Please advise. Thank you for you time and assistance with this matter.

Sounds like you need a KVM switch...here is one example...the kind you get depends on the hardware you have (whether you have USB mouse/keyboard or PS2, etc)
