My home network consists of my moto SB5120 modem feeding my router (A) linksys BEFSR41 version 2.00.4 then I have router (B) linksys BEFSR41 v1.44.2 feeding my PS3. Router B has DHCP disabled and has nothing connected to WAN or UPLINK, so its basically a switch. No matter what I do I get a Nat type3 which prevents many online features. I have tried a static IP with ports open on both routers to that IP and I have tried DHCP with UpnP and that did not work, and lastly I have tried static IP with the PS3 in the DMZ of both routers. how should I be setting this up all the guides online only show how to setup 1 router?

Thank You

since router2 is only connected by lan ports/wireless it was pretty pointless to try to open ports on it. There is no dmz on a lan connected switch which is what your 2nd wireless router is.

start by assigning a static ip to the ps3
enable uPnP in the router if available
connect the pc3 to the router A

Forward these ports to the static ip of the ps3
TCP: 80, 443, 5223
UDP: 3478, 3479.
UDP: 3658 For voice / video chat

Once you have it working on routerA move it to routerB since no other changes are required.

UPDATE
I have the following ports setup per SONY documentation

  • TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080
  • UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070
I have forwarded these ports to my desktop and used PFPortChecker to verify they are open. I change my IP on my desktop back and set the PS3 to the IP I forward those ports too and still test NAT3 How is this possible? Direct connection to modem tests perfectly so it is not my ISP or a modem router.
