I have a Samsung SCX-4521F Series printer connected to my Dad's computer. One day, all of a sudden, it would not print. So I tried deleting and adding the printer again, only I couldn't find the printer after I deleted it. Here is some more helpful information:

1) All computers have the same operating system
2) The printer has worked fine for years until all of a sudden
3) When my Dad turns off Norton, I could find the printer. As a matter of fact, when Norton was ON, I couldn't even find his computer in my network. However, even though I can find the printer when Norton is on, it doesn't print. Instead, it says that I have "documents pending"
4) If drivers are the problem, then I need help. If I try to download new drivers, since the wizard cannot find any printer, it just creates a "fake" printer which serves no purpose.

It seems very probable that the problem is netwrok related as opposed to hardware related.

Thank you for any help

Sorry for the late reply. Norton has that exception. I think I may have worded my previous post awkwardly. I'll eleaborate on the Norton situation:

When Norton is ON:

-I can't find my Dad's computer in my network
-I can't find the printer (DESPITE PRINTER SHARING BEING AN EXCEPTION)

When Norton is OFF:

-I CAN find my Dad's computer
-I CAN find the printer
-the printer won't print

Since with or without Norton the printer still won't print, I don;t think Norton is the cause of the problem

This did not work. The installation wizard cannot locate my printer and so creates a "fake" printer (for a lack of a better term)that has no use. I doubt it is a driver problem for the latest driver by Samsung is from 2009, while my problem is relatively new (3-4 months).
