My father brought me home a http://forums.techguy.org/#pc (windows xp) from his work that they wouldn't need, but due to the fact that it was part of a network, the network controller had defined some restrictions (maximum password length...etc). So, though i logon(locally) as administrator, i can't disable the password because the computer is still a member of the old network.
I haven't big problem with writing the password everytime i logon, but is there any way i can bypass the restrictions? If the only way is to reinstall windows, I don't think I'll bather to do so.
Thanks guys.

You should take it back to them and ask the network administrator to remove it for you, that's the only way without a re-install.

Edit: Do you know the password or not by the way? I was under the impression you didn't.

Thanks. I know the administrator password (of the computer) but due to the fact that Windows were installed for network, it has restrictions even for the administrator. I have no big problem writing the password every time i logon(though it's 8 characters), so i won't bather with reinstalling windows. I just asked if there was any simple way. Thanks again.

Try creating a new user account for yourself in Control Panel. Log into the new user account and delete the old one. Save or copy any personal files before deleting the old account.

If you know the password for the Built in Administrator then Right click My Computer/Properties/Computer Name/Change. Change from the Domain that the computer is a part of to Workgroup, if you have your own local network workgroup name, change it to that. You have to restart the computer and log in as the Built in Admin (that's why you need to know the password). After that there should be no other restrictions. Then you can create your own user profile with admin rights to log into.
