Have you verified that the samba services

smbd and nmbd are still running on the linux box? Can you reach shares by manually typing in the name or doing a search for the computer name in NN?

Hi,

Samba services are running but I have yet to set up shares on the Linux side as I am still trying to figure it out how to do it via webmin? I thought I would have to wait until I figured out how to receive a consistent connection between win98 and linux machines.

You can either use webmin or SWAT which comes with the Samba package and is the official config tool. What version of windows are you running? I had situation where the master browser in windows 98 would lose track of the shares on my linux box back when I ran windows :)
