Backstory: I've really had trouble with all the devices in my room and connection to the wireless network we have. My Xbox360 will never connect but that's a different story. I just got my computer back after a friend removed a few viruses from my HD. My computer won't get internet anymore. It's connected to the internet at 54mbs but there is no packet transfer at all. I've tried winsock commands and netsh commands with no avail.

ISP: Comcast
Antivirals: AVG (I run Spybot when I need to)

I would format and reinstall after a virus. You can't close all the back doors they leave for hackers to return.

Short of that do a repair install of xp.
