Hi
I have a computer in the top of my house and one in the bottom. Is there any way I can communicate to the other computer with messages (maybe a window pops up or a message just appears on screen)? I have a standard router connecting both. Thanks for any help in this matter.

Windows Messenger would do the trick, but you will have to enable the Messenger service on both PCs and may even have to open the port on each PC's firewall. The ports that can be used by the Messenger service are 135, 137, 138, and 139

net send %name of the other computer% "message"

Hi Jake,

Why not just set up a LAN with both machines. Use Network Connections in Control to set it up.
