I have a new Lenovo laptop that's working fine. I connect to the Internet through a ProNet wireless router. Till now I have connected through the wireless connection. Today I wanted to connect through the RJ-45 port. I plugged the cable in, between the RJ-45 on the laptop and a port on the router, and got a message "a network cable is unplugged". I've verified that the cable is ok. I've connected to different ports on the router. When I do a "ipconfig /all" I can see both the cards (wireless and nic).

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? Thank you

Sounds like the NIC on the machine is bad or the drivers have a problem. Since you are sure the cable and router port are OK, that's about all that's left.
