That's what I would venture to say. Go to Start, Run, and then type MSCONFIG. Check your startup items to see if it is in there. If it is, disable it and reboot.

if its a spyware or a virus, then i recommend going check out www.majorgeeks.com and downloading good spyware utilities such as "spybot" and "adware se". i also recommend downloading a good anti-viru software such as "AVG anti-virus".

if you have an anti-virus program right now, uninstall it and install AVG. also install spybot and adware se. then update all three programs and run them and see if they detect any spywares and viruses. good luck and post back if you need more help.

More info here http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32opankiab.html
When first run W32/Opanki-AB copies itself to <Windows>\nether.exe
The following registry entry is created to run nether.exe on startup:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run
Windows System Configuration
<Windows>\nether.exe

W32/Opanki-AB may also attempt to monitor AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) windows and send data to online contacts.
Use regedit to delete the registry key, reboot and see if nether.exe is recreated. (Remember to make a registry backup before making any changes)

It's possible there are more viruses on your system. If you want a more detailed check by our security experts, go to http://www.techsupportforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50 , post your system specs, a description of your problem and what you've done so far to try and resolve it.
