Need to restore built-in modem

Re-install the drivers from the driver disc supplied with the Laptop or download the modem driver from the dell website go to driver downloads under support enter your service tag no and select windows xp for your os and search for the driver in the list.

Hi yes download from another computer from the dell site use the service tag no of the Laptop in question and save them directly onto a usb stick and transfer to the D600.

Before installing check in add/remove programs and if the modem driver is listed uninstall the current one first before installling the updated version you have downloaded.
