need to remove one version of xp

hi,

i recently installed xp over an existing version on my drive. problem is, it said the old version would be wiped out, but i'm pretty sure i still have it, giving me two on the same drive. my pc is slow, and i can't access programs. it won't even let me re-install the programs from the cd's?

how do indentify my old xp install, and remove it?????
