My hard drive failed (would not boot up, only went through a loop of trying to start and then back to error message) Put another drive in and tried to recover some of my data that was not saved, but I could not open the bad drive. error said wrong parameter. I accidently reformated the drive, and now it sais the drive is empty. Did I erase everything on that disk, or can the data still be recovered. I should have let someone who knows more about this stuff do it, but you gotta learn somehow. Thanks

I would use a third party software such as GetDataBack or Ontrack.
