Hi,
I use a P2 with 128MB ram, OS Win98 SE and IE 5.0. I have a peculiar problem, my system reboots whenever I am browsing/using the internet. I use Norton AV 2002 and regularly update it (once a week).
Could someone please help me close in on the problem? The system works fine when I am not using the internet.

I think it may be a good idea to delete IE5 and load IE5.5. Also, check ypour Internet settings and your Modem settings. On the odd occasion, these settings alter for some silly reason or another. Whenever I go to look at someone's computer that is playing up and the settings are wrong, none of the users admit to changing anything!

temp

have you thought to check the temp of your CPU?

sometimes while browsing you can heat it up, causing a reboot if it spikes into a critical temp.

:winking: Bouncy Bob Vila has a point. Is the fan on your CPU working. Prolonged browsing can generate plenty of heat in the CPu and no fan coukld lead to terminal damage. Even if the fan is working, you may be overheating.

Do you have a current Virus scan program on your machine? If so run it.

If not go here and register to run the free online scan..............:D
