I am "semi" computer literate and need help. I am trying to do a full install of XP Home Edition and I get to the formatting portion and go brain dead. I want to use the NTFS but its' not offered on the formatting screen. All I have is Fat and Fat32. The Fat partition claims to be system files and I get a warning about deleting it. I want to get rid of Win98 completely and just have XP on my computer.
Should I delete the systems partition or leave it and install the XP on the FAT32 and why don't I have NTFS as an option?
I hope I am being clear enough with this so that someone can help me!!!!!!
Thanks....Wind

XP will run on FAT32 or NTFS, but NTFS is the better option - do the low level format and things should run smoothly.
