i have asus p5gc mx mother board
nvidia geforce 7200gs video card (PCIe x16 slot) not2.0*
intel dual core 3.0ghz proccessor
1 gb of system ram
windows xp sp2 os
i am going to upgarde my vid card
should i go to geforce 7800, 7900 family which is high end card and company stated that for serius gaming (except 7900gx2 which is really costly)
or think about geforce 8 series low end & midrange cards (8800family is beyond my budget) only supported by PCIe x16
i need satisfactorly support for assassins creed, oblivion, cod4 like games
(details should not be minimized much)
my budget is $175-$200

are ati raideon cards are cheaper than nvidia with same features?

You might get away with the 7 series of cards, but imho
you are underpowered. Go to the build section of this forum and
do some reading on power supplies....You will be enlightened...
