Hello CndnDsltr,welcome to TSF!

You have a LOP infection, which was likely caused by accepting the "Sponsor" program when you installed Messenger Plus! 3. We'll have to uninstall that program as part of the cleaning process. If you must have this program, you can later reinstall, but be sure NOT to accept the "Sponsor" program.

Uninstall Microsoft Antispyware - As you have all ready experienced, it's not very good as a form of protection. I recommend you read the following thread that discusses this product being RogueWare:

This webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix. Please save the following instructions in Notepad. I have customed my instructions on the assumption that you are using Notepad. It may lead to some confusion should you choose to do otherwise.

If there's anything that you don't understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding with the fixes. There should not be any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DON'T MISS A STEP & PERFORM EVERYTHING IN THE RIGHT ORDER.

===============================================

Please download these additional files/programs. Do not run them until instructed to do so.
Unless otherwise stated, they should be stored in same directory as the HiJackThis program.

Download and install AdawareSE Update it’s database after it’s installed and then install the VX2 Addon Cleaner http://www.lavasoft.de/software/addons/vx2cleaner.shtml
We will run this later.

Download and install Spybot S&D. Run Spybot and click on the 'Search for Updates' button. Install any updates that are available.
Now click Mode menu and choose 'Advanced Mode'. Next click on Immunize to your left. Click the Immunize button (green cross) on top to Immunize your computer - you should do this each time there is an update. Now go to Tools->Resident. Make sure you enable TeaTimer after we are done. Do NOT enable Spybot TeaTimer Resident protection at this time. What this will do is monitor any system/registry changes and will ask you for permission to change any of these settings. It may also hinder our fix at this point. You may enable it after the fix is complete.
We will run this later.

The Temp folders must be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download Cleanup! (Alternate Link) if the main link does not work and install it. You will use this later.

*NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temporary folders and does not make backups.

'UNPLUG'/DISCONNECT YOUR COMPUTER FROM THE INTERNET WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED DOWNLOADING

===============================================

IMPORTANT
Please make sure you follow all the instructions for Adaware

Run Ad-Aware, update to the latest definitions, then click on Add-ons in the lefthand column. Select VX2 Cleaner V2.0 and click Run Tool. Click "OK" , then, if something is found, click "Clean" as in the directions given. Click "Close", and exit Ad-Aware.

Reboot your PC and run Ad-Aware again. This time, click on the Start button in Ad-Aware, select "Perform smart system scan" and click Next. Once the scan finishes, click "Next" again. Select all objects found (right click anywhere in the list of found objects and click "Select All Objects"). Click "Next" one more time, then "OK" to confirm the removal.

You will be prompted to set Ad-Aware to run on reboot, click "OK" . Exit Ad-Aware and restart your PC once again.

When Ad-Aware starts up, click on "Start", then "Next". Follow the steps above if anything is found, or click "Finish", then exit Ad-Aware.

Run Spybot click on the 'Spybot-S&D' option on the top left to go back to the main screen. Next click on the 'Check for Problems' button. Let it run the scan. If it finds something, check all those in RED and hit the 'Fix Selected Problems' button. Exit Spybot.

===============================================

Next, reboot your computer in SafeMode :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

  • Click "Start Scan"
After it's done scanning, click "Scan Results"
  • Make sure all items found have a check next to them, then click "Clean Threats Now".
  • Click Exit.
Reboot your computer. I then need you to repeat the same procedure above again... using the TrendMicro tool. I need the log from the second scan/clean...NOT the first...as this will contain what’s left in the system.

In place of the TrendMicro icon will be a text file called "Antispyware.log", please double-click that log and copy the entire contents and paste them here.

Hi CndnDsltr

Please Download Findlop by Metallica.
So we can check there are no hidden infected files.
Unzip it to your desktop.
Double click findlop.bat. It will open a notepad file.
Copy the contents of that file and past it here in your reply.

Thankyou

Hi CndnDsltr

Sorry thats my fault, you can use the version that you have downloaded. It is the latest version
* Go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard
If the above doesn't work, just right click in the box provided and click on paste,
then follow the rest of the instructions.

Thank you for your continued patience

regards

alba :grin:
