Hi all
I need to put a picture of a santa hat on the attached .gif file, but I can't seem to get the hang of any .gif editors. It would be much appreciated if someone here could do it for me; I'm sure it would only take a couple of minutes.
Cheers

Is this the kind of thing you're looking for? The colours on the hat seem to have changed during saving in ImageReady, but that can easily be fixed if the rest of it looks ok.

Cheers, I am trying to get an exception to the 50*50px rule for avatars on another site, so can you make it 50*x, where x is a number close enough to 50 but doesn't make the picture look distorted or smaller. Just incase I can't, and it is certainly looking that way, could you make a 50*50px version aswell, or will imageshack resize .gif's

50x70 and 36x50 pixels

Frames at 50x70

I must be doing something wrong when I save the final optimized gif. The colours on the hat are still wrong. Anyone know how to fix this?

The only way to save the frames as an animated gif in ImageReady is to use File > Optimize. The usual Save and Export options save in psd, jpg, etc but not gif. Then an options windows appears and I set the colours to the maximum 256.

Hmm, I'm not familiar with ImageReady... I build my animated gifs in PhotoShop; each frame a separate layer and then Save for Web etc... There, you are given the option to select Web Colors or not, which leads to an altered (more limited) palette. This functionality exists in Photoshop Elements, as well.

Well, the point is you are looking to use this as an avatar, and not using the palette optimized for the web will result in a much bigger filesize; so you're again doomed.
