N610c Infrared Printing

1143 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  TheMatt
I just found out that my N610c has an infrared thing, and also my printer is infrared capable (MP600 printer). How do i print to it with infrared?...I installed the printer to my laptop. The guide i read says i need to point the Infrared ports to each other but i don't know where the infrared port is on the printer, anyone have an idea?

Infrared needs to be within a very close proximity, I think you would be much better off just using a USB cable.
I dont have an extra USB.

Please someone tell me how to use it.
You can always get a USB hub. Infrared isn't really a good option because the printer's infrared port will have to be pointed at the laptop's infrared port, and the printer will have to be within 50 cm of the laptop, which isn't a lot of space. You will also have to deal with RFI that may mess up data transmission.

IMO it isn't worth it, but if you want to to do it, you will have to install the infrared port driver on your laptop so it recognizes it as a COM device (similar to a parallel port). It should come with the driver (look in device manager), but if not, you can download the driver here.
