I am trying to set up an old Compaq Evo N200 for myself, but I am having problems. I was installing Ubuntu on it using a SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 adapter and a DVD drive. I accidentally bumped it part way through the partitioning and it totally froze up on me. Without thinking, I popped the battery to force a shut down. That was not very smart on my behalf. I tried to boot it up, but I get the message "Invalid Partition Table" as well as something about a media check failure and it asks me to check the connection on a cable. The BIOS was passworded but I was able to reset the CMOS by taking out the RTC battery. I set the boot sequence so that it would boot from h hard disk last, but I still get the same error. I tried booting from a USB key with an older version of Ubuntu installed, but still no go. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
