... after Vista Home Premium is installed.

A family friend had a few copies of Vista, and offered me one. "Why not?" I said.

Well, after installing Vista, and upon the first reboot, a BIOS beep code starts. This is different from the ones I've heard though. It's a single long beep, that repeats until you reboot again, after which the system starts fine.

My mainboard is an MSI K8N SLI-F. (http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K8N_SLI-F) The BIOS is AwardBIOS, version 1.2. I've done a few quick searches for the BIOS code, but I haven't found a site that actually explains what this exact code means.

It's odd, because the system runs fine besides that beep code. Anyone got any ideas for me?

P.S.If anyone can tell me who I would go about finding a lost partition...

Thanks a bunch.
